Laboratory Services Now Available On The First Floor
Dr. O’Neil “Jay” Parenton is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist. In addition to providing care for both high- and low-risk obstetrical patients at Louisiana Women’s Health in Baton Rouge, Dr. Parenton is particularly interested in minimally invasive pelvic surgery, including robotically assisted hysterectomy and laparoscopic hysterectomy. He also performs endometrial ablations, hysteroscopy, and elective sterilization procedures.
For low-risk obstetric patients, Dr. Parenton practices natural childbirth options as an alternative to medicated deliveries, including ambulation during labor and walking epidurals.
Dr. Parenton graduated from Louisiana State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. After earning his medical degree from Ross University in 2010, he went on to complete his residency through LSU Health Sciences Center in Baton Rouge at Earl K. Long Hospital and Woman’s Hospital. He was selected as an administrative chief resident during his final year of residency.
Dr. Parenton is a member of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as well as the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Outside of the office, Dr. Parenton enjoys playing golf, attending LSU athletic events and spending time with family and friends.
