Dr. Ryan Dickerson is a board certified OB/GYN with Louisiana Women’s Healthcare in Baton Rouge.

Dr. Ryan Dickerson graduated from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans in 2002. He then went on to complete his residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

His expertise in obstetrics and gynecology is comprehensive.  Dr. Dickerson is particularly passionate about delivering babies and assisting infertile couples.  He has a specialized interest in minimally invasive gynecological techniques and natural childbirth. Dr. Dickerson is the founder and medical director of The Birth Center of Baton Rouge.

Dr. Dickerson utilizes his expertise and experience in treating gynecologic conditions without significant incisions and in a manner that reduces downtime. He is a recognized expert in both minimally invasive and non-surgical treatments for uterine fibroids, especially for women who have completed child-bearing and want to preserve their uterus. He treats a wide range of fibroid types, sizes and locations using leading edge fibroid removal technologies including the Acessa and Sonata. Both procedures use radiofrequency ablation (RFA) to target, heat, and shrink fibroids without affecting the uterus or surrounding tissue. The Acessa requires only two very small abdominal incisions and is used to treat larger fibroids (>10cm), while the Sonata is an incision-free treatment for smaller fibroids (5-10cm).

Dr. Dickerson also offers extensive training in hormone optimization therapy. He believes in taking a highly individualized approach to addressing each of his patients’ unique situation and needs, and offers the full range of the most current treatment options available to include shots, pills, pellets, and transdermals.

Dr. Dickerson is also a trusted resource for Intimate Wellness, and helps women understand the wide range of issues and treatment options, particularly for those with physical changes due to cancer, menopause, or childbirth.  Dr. Dickerson has a variety of training in vaginal rejuvenation, and offers FDA approved treatments and breakthrough outpatient procedures, such as the O-Shot.

Dr. Dickerson serves as a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and is a member of the Louisiana State Medical Society.  He is a proud member of the advisory board for the Woman’s Center for Wellness where he works to promote pelvic floor physical therapy for women in the Baton Rouge community.

As a supporter of Medical Education International, he has volunteered to lecture on women’s health topics in countries across the globe.

In his free time, Dr. Dickerson enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Mary Dickerson, and their three children
