Dr. Sunshine Willett is a graduate of LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed her residency training at LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans. While there, she was elected as chief resident.
Using a patient-centered approach, Dr. Willett treats obstetrics and gynecology patients of all ages. She specializes in women’s health education, laparoscopic surgery — including laparoscopic hysterectomies — and uterine preserving surgery, such as endometrial ablations.
Besides medicated deliveries, Dr. Willett assists with natural childbirth options for low-risk patients. This includes light diet during labor, ambulation during labor, use of a certified doula, tub labor, and intermittent electronic fetal monitoring during labor.
Dr. Willett is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She’s a member of the East Baton Rouge Parish Medical Society, the Louisiana State Medical Society, and the American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.
