Wendy Holden-Parker, MD

Headshot of Dr. Wendy Holden-Parker Louisiana Women's Healthcare

Dr. Wendy Holden-Parker chose an OB/GYN specialty because she has a passion for helping women throughout all stages of life. In her practice with Louisiana Women’s Healthcare in Baton Rouge, she strives to cultivate a sense of mutual respect between herself and her patients. She draws from over 30 years of experience and is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

A Louisiana native, Dr. Holden-Parker graduated from Baton Rouge High School, attended college at Louisiana State University, and graduated from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans in 1989. She finished her residency training at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon.

Dr. Holden-Parker focuses on preventive care for her gynecology patients. From adolescence to menopause, her patients receive treatments and therapies tailored to their individual needs.

Dr. Holden-Parker always uses the least invasive techniques possible, while also including holistic and therapeutic treatments to replace more traditional surgery.

For each obstetrics patient, Dr. Holden-Parker aims for an unassisted vaginal delivery, but she’s also experienced with C-sections and other deliveries that require assistance. For her low-risk patients, Dr. Holden-Parker offers several natural childbirth methods. She’s ready to use Lamaze techniques and will allow a certified doula. Dr. Holden-Parker considers the use of other practices, too, such as walking during labor, intermittent monitoring, and tub labor. She avoids an episiotomy, if possible.

Regardless of the condition or treatment involved, Dr. Holden-Parker and her staff give each patient individualized care and attention. She wants every woman to leave her office with a sense of empowerment, feeling confident that she has all the information she needs.
